Civil engineering/construction work

Ground reinforcement work

This work is to place reinforcing members in the ground, and provides an effective method for preventing slope failure and reinforcing the foundations of structures.

EP Root Pile® construction method

The EP Root Pile® construction method is a method of suppressing soil deformation by installing piles in soil as reinforcing members in a meshed pattern. The pile heads are connected by a capping beam (RC construction), so that the ground into which the piles are installed and the foundation of the structure behave as a solid structure. This is an effective method for reinforcing cut slopes, retaining walls and structures.

High-Resistance Micro Pile construction method

The High-Resistance Micro Pile construction method is a method of constructing small diameter micropiles with high yield strength/high bearing capacity by incorporating the drilling technology that is used in the ground anchor construction method and the pressure grouting technology for grout into the micropile technology, and inserting deformed bars and high strength steel pipes. This is used for aseismic reinforcement of the foundations of structures (piers) and for foundation reinforcement of structures such as retaining walls and abutments.

Super DAGSIM® construction method

The Super DAGSIM® construction method is a method of placing reinforcing members in the ground by using a simultaneous drilling and grouting method of one process that handles the four processes required by the existing ground reinforcement earthwork: (1) drilling, (2) inserting a core material, (3) grouting mortar, and (4) casing removal. This is used for reinforcing road slopes, preventing collapse of the surface layer and retaining earth dams.

Construction as a countermeasure against landslides at retaining walls of residential areas damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake

EP Root Pile® construction method

Site:
Nishihara Village, Aso District

As the Kumamoto earthquake caused cracks in the retaining walls of residential areas in Nishihara-mura, Aso-gun, a construction countermeasure was taken and the EP Root Pile® construction method was chosen because of its availability for construction even on a narrow construction site and excellent seismic performance, as well as a high reputation in the construction of retaining walls of residential areas after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Restoration work near Hinodebashi on National Highway 9

EP Root Pile® construction method

Contractor:
Meisei Corporation
Site:
Near Hinodebashi on National Highway 9

Near Hinodebashi on National Highway 9 crossing Nantan-shi, Kyoto Prefecture, cracks were found in the retaining wall of the road and a construction countermeasure was to be carried out. The site was very narrow, with the Sanin Main Line parallel to it at a distance of approximately 2 m, and the EP Root Pile® construction method was adopted to reinforce the aged masonry. While we had to regulate traffic on the busy National Highway 9 and deal with the limited construction period, we completed the restoration work successfully in a short period of time.
